How do wireless networks work?

As the name suggests, wireless networks, sometimes called WiFi, allow you to connect to the internet without relying on wires. If your home, office, airport, or even local coffee shop has a wireless connection, you can access the network from anywhere that is within that wireless area.

Microsoft has put a cash and shares bid on the table for Yahoo!, which values it at…….wait for it……ready…… $44.6bn! With Google being the Gorilla of internet companies right now, clearly Microsoft thinks that acquiring Yahoo! would bolster their position. Apparently the Yahoo! board is currently considering the offering. I wonder if that conversation went anything like:

Samsung adds two new LCD displays to its SyncMaster series of LCD monitors, the 2493HM and 2693HM. Samsung SyncMaster 2493HM is the 24-inch model with 1920×1200 resolution, 10,000:1 contrast ratio, 400cd/m2 brightness, 5ms response rate and a 160-degree viewing angle.

Rest assured, we've "seen" methods of delivering injections sans pain, but we've yet to actually experience this phenomenon ourselves. If Dr. Roger Narayan has anything to do about it, however, we may not feel even a pinch the next time the blood drive comes calling.
